What is GRAPE SEED EXTRACT?

(GRAPE SEED EXTRACT) Grape seed has been used for blood circulation problems (venous insufficiency, edema) and certain eye problems (eye strain). Grape seed has also been used as a source of antioxidants and essential fatty acids to protect against heart disease. Some herbal/diet supplement products have been found to contain possibly harmful impurities/additives. Check with your pharmacist for more details about the particular brand you use. The FDA has not reviewed this product for safety or effectiveness. Consult your doctor or pharmacist for more details.

How should I use GRAPE SEED EXTRACT?

Take this product by mouth as directed. Follow all directions on the product package. If you have any questions, ask your doctor or pharmacist. Do not crush or chew extended-release tablets. Doing so can release all of the drug at once, increasing the risk of side effects. Swallow the whole tablet without crushing or chewing. This product may prevent the growth of Lactobacillus acidophilus, a type of bacteria normally present in the gut that is sometimes taken to maintain gut health. Do not take grape seed at the same time as Lactobacillus products (such as live-culture yogurt). Take these products 2 or more hours apart. If your condition lasts or gets worse, or if you think you may have a serious medical problem, get medical help right away.

What should I tell my health care provider before I take GRAPE SEED EXTRACT?

Before taking this product, tell your doctor or pharmacist if you are allergic to it; or if you have any other allergies. This product may contain inactive ingredients, which can cause allergic reactions or other problems. Talk to your pharmacist for more details. If you have any health problems, consult your doctor or pharmacist before using this product. Liquid forms of this product may contain sugar and/or alcohol. Caution is advised if you have diabetes, alcohol dependence, or liver disease. Ask your doctor or pharmacist about using this product safely. During pregnancy, this product should be used only when clearly needed. Discuss the risks and benefits with your doctor. It is unknown if this product passes into breast milk. Consult your doctor before breastfeeding.

What may interact with GRAPE SEED EXTRACT?

Drug interactions may change how your medications work or increase your risk for serious side effects. This document does not contain all possible drug interactions. Keep a list of all the products you use (including prescription/nonprescription drugs and herbal products) and share it with your doctor and pharmacist. Do not start, stop, or change the dosage of any medicines without your doctor's approval. A drug that may interact with this product is: phenacetin.

What if I miss a dose of GRAPE SEED EXTRACT?

If you miss a dose, use it as soon as you remember. If it is near the time of the next dose, skip the missed dose. Use your next dose at the regular time. Do not double the dose to catch up.

What side effects may I notice from receiving GRAPE SEED EXTRACT?

Headache, abdominal pain, sore throat, nausea, and diarrhea may occur. If any of these effects last or get worse, tell your doctor or pharmacist promptly. A very serious allergic reaction to this product is rare. However, get medical help right away if you notice any symptoms of a serious allergic reaction, including: rash, itching/swelling (especially of the face/tongue/throat), severe dizziness, trouble breathing. Where should I keep GRAPE SEED EXTRACT?

Refer to storage information printed on the package. If you have any questions about storage, ask your pharmacist. Keep all medications and herbal products away from children and pets. Do not flush medications down the toilet or pour them into a drain unless instructed to do so. Properly discard this product when it is expired or no longer needed. Consult your pharmacist or local waste disposal company.
